Directions to Swope’s Sideling Hill Farm

Take I-70 through Frederick and into Pennsylvania.

Take Route 522 North, there is a small restaurant which used to be a Tasty Freeze on the right side of road almost as soon as you get onto 522.

There will be a green Ford Ranger waiting in the Tasty Freeze parking lot to guide you the rest of the way.

Continue north of 522 until reach “town” of Dott which basically is just a sign and a small store. There is a road which branches off to left immediately after the Dott sign.

Take that road (there is a short road that runs next to store that forms third side of triangle if you miss it).

Make a left at the end of the road.

Follow new road to second left (first left is very sharp turn which would take you back the way you came). The second left will surprise you as you come over the crest of a hill just before you make the turn.

Campsite at Swope’s farm is a left off the road, behind a yellow gate, and is immediately before you cross a Creek (I think there is a sign identifying it as Licking Creek, but map seems to indicate it is Tonolowoy Creek). If you miss the turn and cross that creek, you will first come up on the Swope house on the left and then the farm on the right, which is were you will also go for water, so turn around!
