Information Night for Parents – Next Thursday, June 14, is "Parent Summer Camp Night" where we will cover all information related to your sons going to summer camp. All parents are welcome, but parents of scouts in the Pioneer Program (our first year program) should attend.

Merit Badges at Summer Camp – Boys in the Ranger and Venture Programs who want to take merit badges with the Camp Powhatan staff must complete the merit badge registration form (attached) and turn it in at the next troop meeting. Space in the merit badge classes is limited. Parents, please talk with your sons about the merit badges that they want to take and SIGN THE FORM. We strongly recommend the boys take at least two that are required for Eagle and then take a couple of the "fun" ones… Believe it or not, the Eagle required badges are fun too! The web site for the merit badge schedule is at http://www.bsa-brmc.org/pdfs/camp/powhatanmb2007.pdf

Two adults are needed. – Do you have a job with the troop? Our Committee Chairman, Mike Filipczak, needs two adults who will prepare for Eagle ceremonies. This is an easy job, it will be split between two people and it will take much less than an hour per week. These two people will place orders for plaques, get the Eagle banner ready, get flowers for the Eagle Scout's mom, etc. Please contact Mike if you can volunteer for this job.

The troop is planning an ice cream social. I couldn't hear the announcement very well, but I believe it is on Thursday the 21 st and those who want to participate should bring $2 to the meeting next week. The boy leadership will know more about this activity.

Search your garages and basements for troop equipment – Please bring in any equipment that belongs to the troop. We need to account for it and store it over the summer.

The boys in the Ranger Program announced that Mr. Larry Eastman's last day as Cubmaster for Pack 874 is tonight, Friday the 8th . Several of th em will attend that pack meeting to honor Larry's service to the pack. Great job, Mr. Eastman!

At the National Pike District Recognition Dinner, Mr. Bob Scarburgh was awarded a pin for 50 years in the BSA program ! Wow!

The SPL requested scouts and families who want to go to the Baltimore Orioles baseball game on Saturday, June 16th, bring $5 and a permission slip to the next meeting. Please talk with your patrol leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders for more information about this activity.

Senior Patrol Leader Elections are 14 June – Boys who wish to be the run in the election for SPL must talk with Mr. McGovern. Be prepared to tell him why you want to run for this position.
