Troop 874 Meeting Notes Nov. 2, 2007

November Camping Trip – Permission slips need to be turned in next week . The traditional Thanksgiving feast will be held this weekend and the boys will need to an additional $5 for the special dinner. Also, Mr. Springer will collect $20 from the adults.

Adult Training – I don't often ask for your help, but I would like it now so that I can bring the Troop's adult training records up to date . Please complete the attached survey and get it back to me. Once you do, I will be able to identify the Troop's adult training shortfalls and future requirements. Please give your completed survey to me (Bob Johnson) at the next meeting, or email it to troop874.information@gmail.com, or mail it to me at my home address (on the survey). Thanks in advance for your assistance! If you would like to know how we will use your information, catch me at a meeting and I can give you the full story on adult training.   :-)

A tip… Adults and boys, keep good records – It is very important to keep all your BSA records. These include merit badge "blue cards" and records of advancement for the boys, as well as certificates of training ( e.g., youth protection, safe swim defense, Wagon Wheel, Woodbadge, etc.) for the adults. Plastic protectors for baseball cards that fit into a 3-ring binder work great for this . The records are important when you prepare for your final push to the rank of Eagle and for adult participation at high adventure camps.

Mrs. Fernandez reminds boys to bring in their dues. Boys who are too far behind on dues cannot sit for a board of review.

The Patrol Leaders' Council will be Monday at 7:00 at the Glen Mar UMC annex.

The Troop 874 Committee meets next Wednesday at 7:30 in one of the upstairs rooms at Glen Mar. All registered adults are invited to attend.

Our annual rechartering continues.... If you do not have a re-registration package, please call Mr. Joe Aissi immediately . Next Thursday will be the last troop meeting before the registration documents are sent to the National Pike District. Please help us get the paperwork completed.

The October camping trip started out wet and got wetter, but just before noon on Saturday the sun came out and it was a beautiful weekend for the role play! Thanks to Dr. Mark Moulding and all of the volunteers who made this a very special outing!

Thanks also to everyone who stopped by the Pizza Hut last Monday and supported the Troop's fund raiser!
