Read the next paragraph carefully. There are some changes
and important announcements:
Troop's fund raiser during the Simon Decker Soccer
Tournament We really need additional adults and scouts to help sell food
items (there will be no cooked food) at this tournament this weekend (Saturday
and Sunday, November 10 & 11). If you have not signed up but will be
available to help, simply come to either of the parks and report to the adult
in charge of the concession stand . Stay for as much
or as little time as you can. For those who can't remember if they signed up or
if your son hasn't told you that he signed up, the latest sign up list is
attached. Also, the games start a bit later on Sunday; so, those working on
Sunday should report for work at 9:00. Maps to the tournament locations are in
the "overview" document (also attached).
November Camping Permission slips and money were due last
night. Adults attending should have given their names and $20 to Mr. Springer.
Lost and Found The Senior Patrol Leader has lost items at
his house. If you (or your son) lost items at meetings
or camping trips, please see Tom at one of the meetings or call him at home.
Supreme Sports Night Lock In Our December outing will be a
night of sporting activities (swimming, basketball, skating, racket ball, wally ball, and lots of other stuff) on Friday, December 14
th. We usually start around 10:30 p.m. and continue
until 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. More information will be coming, but keep
that date free!
There's one final week to get in your re-registration
paperwork. If you do not have a re-registration package, please call Mr. Joe Aissi immediately. Joe needs to get the paperwork to the
National Pike District by 15 November 2007. Thanks to all who have already
registered!
Adult Training Registered adults
who are active with the troop, if you have not done so, please complete the
attached survey and get it back to me. Once you do, I will be able to identify
the Troop's adult training shortfalls and future requirements. Please give your
completed survey to me (Bob Johnson), or email it to
troop874.information@gmail.com, or mail it to me at my home address (on the
survey). Thanks to those (few) who have already responded!
Veterans Day is Sunday, November 11th
.
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or
reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, signed a blank check made
payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up
to and including my life." That is Honor, and there are way too many
people in this country nowadays who no longer understand it. -- Author Unknown
Please take a few minutes to think about those who have served in the military and about those who are currently serving.
