Notes from Troop 874 Meeting November 29, 2007

There remains a lot of unclaimed camping gear from the last camping trip. Contact Senior Patrol Leader Tom R to claim items.

Scoutmaster Kevin McGovern reminded scouts that it is time to start thinking about the next round of leadership. The elections are likely to be held in January. Potential candidates for the position of SPL must first discuss the position with Mr. McGovern. Knock-Knock!

Supreme Sports Night Lock In – Our December outing will be a night of sporting activities (swimming, basketball, skating, racket ball, wally ball, and lots of other stuff) on Friday, December 14 th. We usually start around 10:30 p.m. and continue until 6:00 am Dec 15. See attached permission slip which must be returned next week.

Metric Marathon – For the previous several years, members of the troop have handed out water to runners in the Metric Marathon and we will do so again this year. It will be on Sunday, 2 December 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until about noon. This event is sponsored by the Howard County Striders and would count for service time as well as an outing. The water station will be in the 6100 portion of Tamar Drive, Jeffers Hill Neighborhoo d. Contact Mr. Bud Hunt if you would like to help

Halliburton 2008 – This trip will be 31 July – 10 Aug. 2008. Cost is about $500. If you want to go, the attached registration form and a $100 deposit must be returned to Mr. Randy Possehl no later than next week (Dec 6).

February 2008 Ski Trip – This will be at Timberline Resort in West Virginia on 8-10 Feb. 2008. The cost is $149 per person and includes ski rental, a lesson, lodging, Fri-Sun lift ticket and all meals. Mr. Dave Eddy will start collecting registrations and money for this event in December.

Philmont Crew - Members are reminded that a payment of $210 is due next week.
