Troop Notes from Dec. 20, 2007

Congratulations to our newest Eagle Scout, Josh Y! Josh has been away at college, but returned home for Christmas and successfully passed his Eagle Board of Review on Wednesday evening. What a wonderful Christmas present!

The next troop meeting will be January 3rd. The troop committee will meet on January 2nd at 7:30 at Glen Mar UMC. Enjoy the winter break!

January 18-20 Camping Trip – As usual, this will be cabin camping and we will concentrate on rank advancement. Mr. Clark will do Computer Merit Badge and can accommodate 12 boys; as of last night, there was only one slot remaining. Mr. McGovern will do Fire Safety Merit Badge and can work with 6 boys; I don't know how many (if any) slots still are open for that badge. If you want to do either of these, contact these adults ASAP. Other merit badges will be announced as plans for the trip are firmed up.

Jimmy, our Quartermaster, asked the scouts to please, please, please return all troop equipment during the next meeting, this includes tents, tarps, patrol boxes, storage boxes, stoves, etc. The next time the equipment will be used is for the camping trip in March and we must get it back into the shed and take inventory of what needs to be repaired or replaced. Please look through your garage and basement for any equipment!

February 2008 Ski Trip – Please bring a check for your deposit ($75 per person) to the next meeting (January 3 rd). If you still need a permission slip / reservation form, Mr. Dave Eddy will have the at that time. We will ski at Timberline Resort in West Virginia on 8-10 Feb. 2008. The cost is $149 per person and includes ski rental, a lesson, lodging, Fri-Sun lift ticket and all meals. The entire family is welcome to go on this trip!

Adults who have not yet returned the training survey to Bob Johnson, please do so. If you need a form, I will have them at the meetings.
