Troop 874 Meeting Notes, January 17, 2008

Congratulations to Josh S. for stepping up to serve as Senior Patrol Leader.  Josh will serve as SPL beginning in March until September.  Josh will be looking for Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders and other positions (Chaplain's Aid, Quartermaster)so boys should be prepared to serve in these essential leadership positions.  The troop is still knocking on your door.  Junior Leadership Training is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of 22-24 February.  All members of Josh's leadership team are expected to attend.

Troop 874 will once again run the monkey bridge at the Klondike Derby on Saturday February 2 at the McKeldin Area.  Many scouts are needed throughout the day to erect and dismantle the bridge and assist Cub Scouts crossing the bridge.  This is a great event that introduces many scouts (and parents) to Troop 874 and the leadership potential of the Boy Scouts.  Lunch will be provided along with hot drinks.  Contact Mr. Greg Fabella (gfabella@comcast.net).

A payment of $75 for the skiing trip is due next week to Mr. Dave Eddy.

Matt K. is continuing to collect books for a Baltimore inner city school.  Matt will soon be collecting books from throughout the community and will need additional support.  Help support Matt's Eagle project.

Quartermaster Jimmy K. is calling for all tents and troop camping gear to be returned in good condition.   Scouts are responsible for setting up their tent when they return home from each camping trip so it is dry when it is next used.  Patrol cooking gear must be cleaned after each weekend it is used.
