Congratulations to Josh Y who was awarded the Eagle rank at tonight's Court of Honor!

David B. postponed his Eagle Project that was to be conducted this Sunday,  June 1st. Do not show up at the armory on Sunday! David felt he is not quite prepared and said that he will announce the revised date soon.

Zack S.’s Eagle Project will be June 14 from 9:00 - 4:00. You will be working at Sarah's House (Ft Meade) to build a brick grill, replace benches and tables, and revitalize a garden. Sarah's House is located at 2015 20th St., Fort Meade, MD 20755. It is easy to get to and you do not need to go through any guarded checkpoints at the fort. Directions and more information is in the attached flier.

Kevin D. thanked everyone who helped him on his Eagle Project to construct a rain garden at Howard High School. Way to go, Kevin!

Drivers are still needed for June camping & rafting trip. We have never had to turn scouts away due to lack of drivers. Please contact Mr. Phil Conant if you can drive one way or round trip. The trip to the campground is approximately 3.5 hours.

Mr. Mike Rice handed out merit badge sign up sheets for the Rangers and Ventures who are attending summer camp at Broad Creek. The sheets should be filled out and turned in next week.

June 12th will be a very special evening! We will hold elections for Order of the Arrow, which is recognized as Scouting's honor society. Approved as part of the Scouting program in 1934, the OA recognizes the Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives, it develops and maintains camping traditions and spirit, it promotes Scout camping and it stresses cheerful service to others. To hold an election, we need at least 50% of the registered boys present. So, please attend the meeting on 12 June! You will learn about a part of Scouting that has been absent from the Troop's program for several years!

Also on 12 June, there will be a meeting for parents about summer camp. It is especially important for the parents of the first year Scouts to attend.

The Eagle Court of Honor for Billy Johnson (my son) will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st. It will be held at the National Cryptologic Museum and everyone is invited to attend. At 4:00 on the same day, everyone is invited to attend a cookout at the Johnson home. Directions to the museum are at http://www.nsa.gov/museum/museu00009.cfm. Directions to my house will be sent in a future email and will be handed out at the Court of Honor.
