KNOCK
KNOCK!
Scouts, Troop 874 is knocking on YOUR door! The troop is looking to elect a new Senior
Patrol Leader during the July 3rd meeting.
This will be the third time that the troop has scheduled the election so
it has to happen on Thursday evening.
There are two candidates so there will be an election! If they have not already done do, candidates
should plan on meeting with Scoutmaster Kevin McGovern before they consider
running for election.
Summer Camp at
The troop annual summer camp from July 13 – 19 is drawing
near. Here are several important items
to keep in mind:
Rita Bietry reminds parents that
their scout's physical must be current.
It was noted that current Class 2 physicals have not been received from
many scouts. Scouts who expect to take
prescribed medications must complete the appropriate form (attached) and submit
to Rita. Also note that many adult
leaders have not submitted their Class 3 physicals (for those over 40 years of
age). Without the appropriate physical,
scouts and adult leaders will be traveling home shortly after arriving at
camp.
Also note that a scout's troop dues must be current if the
scout is attending summer camp. Scouts
should check the dues envelope distributed weekly to patrol leaders to confirm
if they are behind in their dues.
A two-page flyer was recently distributed on summer camp for
scout and parents. It includes info on
essential equipment, Mr Fleischmann's Top 10 List of
What Not To Do When Preparing Your Scout for Summer
Camp, and departure information. Contact
Doreen Klose or Jerry Fleischmann if you have
questions. The two-page flyer is
attached to these notes.
Best wishes to the
Troop 874 Philmont Crew departing for Philmont Scout Ranch on Wednesday morning, July 2nd. The Crew will cover close to 70 miles in 10
days at Philmont.
This trip is the culmination of a year-long effort and we know our Crew
is well prepared for the trip.
Please take note that there will be a regular troop meeting
next Thursday evening, July 3rd!
Knock knock!!!
