Mr. Meister announced that Troop 874 was the first standby troop for Philmont Scout Reservation in 2008.   There is a strong likelihood that the troop will get a slot but attendees must be ready with the $250 deposit per person by April 20.  Keep watching the troop web site and e-mail.   Prospective attendees must be prepared to act quickly to reserve a slot.

A few opening are available for the June 9 rafting trip down the Lower Youghegheny River.  The trip will feature white water rafting on the Lower Youck and other site seeing opportunities (if you survive the raft trip!).  The cost is $55 paid by May 4.   Contact Dave Dobbs or Randy Possehl.

Six scouts and five adults cycled down the 184.5 mile Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Tow Path over the spring break.   This was a superb event organized by Daniel Hunt and Dean Clark in the wilds of Maryland along the banks of the Potomac River.  Congratulations to all the members of the C&O Canal crew.
