Notes from Troop 874 – 22 March 2007

 

The second payment for Camp Powhattan was due this evening (March 22).   If you forgot this payment, please contact our Troop Treasurer, Dennis Gajewski (410-465-0626), immediately.  Also, the final payment will be due on May 24th, not in June as originally announced.

 

Camping at BSA Camp Tuckahoe… We will meet in Glen Mar's parking lot on Friday evening (23 March) at 6:30. See you there!!!

 

Adult Training Opportunities – Correction from last week's notes. Every boy deserves a trained leader! The troop will underwrite the entire $45 cost of Wagon Wheel training for any registered adult in the troop.   The training is on Saturday, April 28, Saturday May 5 and the weekend of May 18-20.  For specific information see the registration form on our troop's web site under "training" or go to:  http://nationalpike.org/an_brochures/2007_SpringWagonWheel.pdf .

 

Friends of Scouting Campaign continuesIf you have not yet done so, please make a donation to the Family Friends of Scouting Campaign. There are only a couple of weeks remaining in this important fund raiser! You can complete a donation form at the meeting or contact Bud Hunt (hunt-family1@comcast.net ) directly.

 

Three upcoming Eagle Projects are scheduled – a great way to get service time!

1.       Tim S. will upgrade a garage at a residential facility of the Howard County Arc into a Sensory Stimulation Room. He needs adults only on Saturday, March 31st at 10:00, and boys and adults on Saturdays April 7th and 14th. The address is 6506 Beechwood Drive, Columbia.

2.       Brian S. will build a meditation path and benches at the First Presbyterian Church of Howard County from 8:00-5:00 on Saturday, 31 March and 1:00-4:00 on Sunday, April 1 st, if an extra day is needed. The church is on the southeast corner of the intersection of Routes 108 and 29.

3.       Sean B. will restore part of the waterfront in Historic Ellicott City on April 14-15 and April 28-29 (from 7:00 – 5:00). Directions: In Historic Ellicott City, look for B&O Railroad Museum. From there, go under the large railroad bridge, and make an immediate left-hand turn into Parking Lot B before the Patapsco River Bridge.
