Help Wanted - Yes we mean you !


Through the years many fine young men were able to move through our program because of the selfless dedication of adults who worked for Troop 874.  We continue to need more help and we want all parents to be involved in some way.  A troop takes a lot of effort behind the scene to keep it moving.  Examples of adult positions include working as a scoutmaster or patrol coach, helping with fund raisers, being a merit badge counselor, coordinating service projects, tracking advancements, coordinating refreshments for Eagle Courts of Honor, helping maintain our web site and e-mail aliases, and the list goes on and on.  If you have not yet volunteered to help, please contact the Scoutmaster, the Troop Committee, or simply click here and tell us that you would like information about helping the Troop.  We are about preparing your son and the other scouts for the big wide world out there.  At a time in history when we are constantly bombarded with bad news, we can think of nothing that is more important to be doing.  Please join us !!

Listing of the Committee’s event coordinators

Troop 874 adult volunteer positions are split into 2 main functional groups:  “Program” and “Committee”, although there is a certain amount of overlap.

Adults with the “Program” (often in scout uniform) work directly with the scouts on a regular basis, whereas adults with the “Committee” generally perform behind-the-scenes support functions.

The following links are to adult volunteer positions.  These positions are constantly changing and we encourage additional adult involvement.   Ideas for new positions are also encouraged.  See the Committee Chair (comchair.troop874@gmail.com) with your ideas!
